Point-and-Shoot Taken in a Literal Sense

Digicam's literal take at "point and shoot". Courtesy of CNET.com.This has to be one of the most interesting, awesome, and strangely intimidating digital cameras I have ever seen. It’s called the Aimat, and it’s produced by Digicam. Quite literally, you aim the camera at what you want to take a picture of and pull the trigger to take the picture. Now, CNET cites that this is strictly a concept device, and it lacks a viewfinder, expandable memory, zoom, or other various necessities on modern cameras. But I can’t help but wonder…how awesome would it be to have a camera like this?

Acer to have the first Chrome OS Netbooks?

I was just flipping through the Crave blog over on CNET and there was an article that stated that Acer would have the first Chrome OS netbook. This is an interesting statement, considering the multitude of laptop manufacturers and the time in which this statement was released.

The Chrome OS, Google’s shot at a computer operating system, isn’t due until mid-2010. There is still at least half a year to go until the full commercial release of the operating system. Therefore, I must take this statement Acer Chairman J.T. Wang released with a grain of salt. Sure, they plan on being the first company to release the Chrome OS on their brand, but will they really be the first? HP is a computing conglomerate and has already got a strong hold in the personal computing market. Releasing Chrome OS laptops will surely allow them to broaden the spectrum of users. Lenovo is supposedly releasing an Android-based netbook (or smartbook, as I’ve seen it referred to as), which leads me to believe they’re working closely with Google and would be the flagship carrier of the operating system. Dell is currently toying with the Chrome OS with the purpose of releasing it in their Mini 10v netbook. Could this be a sign that they will be an early/the first carrier?

Look into this and let me know what you think. Is Mr. Wang being realistic or optimistic in his statement that Acer will indeed be the first carrier of the Chrome OS? Comment back and let me know your thoughts.

OK I promise this blog won’t be an ode to ThinkGeek, but this couldn’t be left off of the blog. And if I didn’t post it now, it would have found its way eventually.
This USB rocket launcher would get a lot of action in my room. Just plug it into one of your USB ports (obviously) and use the software interface provided with the launcher to control it. It has full 360° rotational range and can tilt up to 45°.
I’m so gonna get one. Now all I need is a victim…

Again, thank you, ThinkGeek.
This is called the T-Qualizer. It animates itself to the sound of any ambient noise or music (it obviously has no input, so what you see is what you get). Still a wicked cool concept.
I wouldn’t personally wear this with any regularity, but I would definitely love to own one.
